Maria Isabel believes every student can succeed academically given they are provided with the necessary resources and supports- classroom aides, counselors, coaches, librarians, tutors, and mental health services.

Since joining the board, Maria Isabel has consistently asked questions to promote transparency and accountability. She believes transparency and accountability are essential to continuous improvement.
Safe Learning Environments
Maria Isabel believes students have the right to learn in safe and secure environments. She believes students learn better when they feel safe in school.
Enrichment Opportunities
As board member, Maria Isabel has advocated for the expansion of the arts and for afterschool enrichment programs. She is committed to supporting programs that broaden students' learning experiences and foster creativity and curiosity.
